Media, PA- The
Penn State Berks Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the United East Preview Meet, hosted by Penn State Brandywine on Friday, September 12. The men's team achieved a remarkable first-place finish among 12 teams, positioning them as strong contenders for the upcoming United East Championship. The women's team secured a ninth-place finish out of 13 teams.
In the men's race, Penn State Berks showcased impressive performances, with
Trent Jordan leading the team by finishing fourth with a time of 28:32.37, maintaining a pace of 5:44. He was closely followed by
Cristian Corona-Olivais,
Nathaniel Leano, and
Samuel Branford, who finished 11th, 12th, and 13th, respectively.
Simon Rickert rounded out the top scorers for the team, placing 14th. The depth of the squad was evident, as additional runners like
Mark Shiroshita and
Alexander Gonzalez also posted competitive times.
On the women's side,
Brianna Strittmatter was the top performer for Penn State Berks, finishing 23rd with a clock time of 30:37.10.
Heather Hoffman was the next to finish, securing the 34th spot.
Elianny Tremols,
Natalia Campo, and
Kiara Altine completed the scoring for the team, contributing to their overall ninth-place finish.

Berks will be back on the course when both teams take part in the Penn State Abington Invitational on Saturday, September 20.
