Women's soccer set to face No. 2 Trinity (Tx.) University

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team is set to embark on another lengthy trip, this time heading to San Antonio, Texas to face Trinity (Texas) University, who happens to be the No. 2 team in the country and host of the sectional tournament of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Saturday and Sunday.

PSB will square off with the Tigers (22-0-0) on Saturday, November 19 at 11 a.m. CST (12 p.m. EST) in the Nittany Lions (19-3-1) first ever Round of 16 contest. Live stats and live video available courtesy of Trinity University.

The Nittany Lions made it to this part of the tournament by defeating No. 17 ranked Carnegie Mellon University, 3-1, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Berks followed that up with a thrilling 1-0 triumph over Nazareth College on Sunday afternoon's second round tilt. They are currently riding an eight game winning streak into Saturday's showdown.

Trinity enters the weekend with the highest winning streak in the nation (22), are one of just two Division III women's programs to win every match this season, and are tied with Thomas More College for most wins in 2016. They are second in the country in scoring with a 4.48 goals per game average, which trails only Penn State Berks (5.00/per game) as the most potent offense. The Tigers reached this spot in the postseason by edging Mount Union (OH) College, 2-1, and earning a 3-1 come-from-behind win over Hanover College on Sunday afternoon. Trinity has advanced to the Round of 16 for the third time in four years, with the last appearance taking place in 2014.

In the other sectional contest at this site, No. 10 ranked Hardin-Simmons University (20-1-1) and No. 8 Washington University in St. Louis (16-2-2) will play at 1:30 p.m. CST (2:30 p.m. EST). The winner of those two contests will then do battle on Sunday, November 20 at 1 p.m. CST (2 p.m. EST) with a trip to the NCAA Semifinal round on the line.
