XC competes at DeSales Invitational

CENTER VALLEY, PA - The Penn State Berks men's cross country team placed 30th, while the women's squad was 32nd competing in the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday morning.

The men's team compiled a team score of 865 points, narrowly edging out Hood College (867) for 30th. On the women's side, Berks had 843 points to finish behind fellow NEAC institution Lancaster Bible College (826 points).

Will Graybill was the top Nittany Lion runner, placing 151st with a time of 30:30 on the 8K course. Mihai Sanchez (163rd) and Jacob Conrad (165th) were separated by three seconds with Sanchez crossing the finish line at 31:09. Andre Lawson had a time of 33:04 to place 191st, followed by Joe Hartley at 33:42 in 195th place out of 250 runners.

Amanda Hauser placed 114th with a time of 26:15 to lead the women's squad on the 6K course. Mikaela Smith followed in 139th place with a time of 26:50, while Jordan Bascome clocked in at 27:47 to place 161st. Rachel Hodgson (214th) and Hallie Music (215th) finished side-by-side with times of 33:00 and 33:01, respectively.

The Nittany Lions will compete in the Alvernia University Invitational Saturday, October 15 at 10 a.m.
