Kopp earns All-NEAC first team honors

CLARKS SUMMIT, PA (April 29, 2012) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis squad had five players earn all-conference honors at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) individual tournament on Sunday afternoon at Birchwood Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

Dashiell Kopp was the top finisher for the Nittany Lions, finishing as the No. 4 singles tournament champion. He defeated Alex Ko (Lancaster Bible) by a score of 6-1, 2-6, 10-7 in the semi's. Kopp then cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ross Raddi of Penn State Abington in the championship bout.

Kopp paired up with Matt Holdorf for a third place finish in the first doubles tournament. The duo was narrowly edged out 9-7 by Jordan Domsky and Matthew Wolff (Abington) in the semifinal. They won the consolation match by a score of 8-1 of Keuka College's top doubles team.

Bradley Kale and Javier Quinones-Melendez won 8-3 in the consolation match at No. 2 doubles, earning them All-NEAC Third Team recognition.

Holdorf (No. 1), Kale (No. 3) and Amir Alikhani (No. 6) all finished in third place in their respective singles tournaments.

The Nittany Lions wrapped up their 2011-12 campaign was the NEAC runner-up after losing to Penn State Harrisburg, 7-2, yesterday afternoon.
