Nittany Lions drop thriller in fall finale

Box Score READING, PA (October 10, 2012) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team was narrowly edged out, 5-4, on the road against Albright College in the fall season finale on Wednesday, October 10. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions took a 2-1 lead in doubles play with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Drew Weinhold, the reigning NAC Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, paired with Brian Campo for an 8-2 victory in the top spot. Shesh Patel and Michael Smith won their second doubles bout of fall, defeating Terrence Good and Joe Monzo by an 8-6 score.

In singles action, Weinhold earned a win in the No. 1 spot with 6-2, 6-4 victory, while Campo picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win in the second spot.

The Nittany Lions will begin the spring portion of their schedule at Immaculata University on March 14. They will begin conference play against Keuka College on April 6.
