READING, Pa- The Penn State Berk men's and women's tennis teams were swept by St. Mary's College of Maryland on Senior Day on Saturday, Apr. 20. The men's team fell by a score of 7-2, while the women dropped their match 9-0.
In the men's match up with the Seahawks, Donovan Sullivan earned the Lions only singles victory, earning a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the #3 singles match. During doubles play, Sullivan and his partner Weston Weaver earned a hard-fought team point in the #2 doubles match. The duo earned a 9-8 (7-5) victory.
Before the women's match began, the Penn St. Berks athletic department took a few minutes to honor its two senior team members. Sam Hagenbush and Alyssa Love. The Lions would get swept in singles play, but Katelyn Victoria pushed her #5 singles match to a third set, falling 11-9.
Both teams will have a quick turnaround, as they host McDaniel College on Sunday, Apr. 21. The match is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
