Men's tennis closes out regular season with sweep

Box Score BRYN ATHYN, PA (April 19, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a 9-0 win over Bryn Athyn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (5-9, 4-1 NEAC) finish the season as the second seed in the NEAC Championship, which will be played on Thursday, April 23 against the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

The No. 1 duo of Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz and the No. 2 tandem of Dylan Deleon and Jerrad Seifrit both won their doubles bouts by an 8-0 margin. Shesh Patel and Adam Haelsig were 8-2 winners as the No. 3 doubles team.

Weinhold was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at the first singles spot. Will Byler (No. 2) won his match 6-2, 6-0, while Volan Nnanpalle (No. 3) was a 6-1, 6-3 winner. Fritz and Deleon won at No. 4 and 5 respectively in a pro set by an 8-0 margin. John Zimmerman rounded out the Nittany Lion winners with an 8-1 victory at the sixth flight.

The winner of the NEAC semifinal round will face off against regular season champion Penn State Abington.
