Men's tennis sweeps Lancaster Bible

Box Score READING, PA (April 1, 2015) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Lancaster Bible College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Wednesday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz were 8-2 winners at No.1 doubles, while Will Byler and Volan Nnanpalle won 8-1 at second doubles. The No. 3 duo of Dylan Deleon and Jerrad Seifrit earned a doubles sweep for the Nittany Lions with an 8-2 win.

Weinhold grabbed a 6-1, 6-1 win in the top singles flight. Byler played the tightest match of the day, winning 6-4 in the first set and falling 4-6 in the second. The freshman picked up the victory by outlasting his opponent, 12-10, in the super tiebreaker. Nnanpalle (No. 3) won 6-0, 6-1, while Fritz (No. 4) and Deleon (No. 5) each were 6-2, 6-1 winners. John Zimmerman picked up a 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles to round out the Berks winners.

The Nittany Lions return to action with a non-conference contest at home against Immaculata University on Tuesday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m.
