Baseball swept by Ursinus at home

READING, PA (March 22, 2014) - The Penn State Berks baseball team dropped a pair of games to Ursinus College, 6-1 and 11-5, in a non-conference doubleheader at Hintz Athletic Field on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, Dylan Gallagher went 3-for-3, while Tom Grablewski was 2-for-3 with a double and a run batted in. Luke Erb scored the lone run after leading off the inning with a walk and movie to second on a bunt single by Nick Zipay. Grablewski then singled to right to drive in Erb.

In the second game, Grablewski singled to start the bottom of the fourth and scored on Ryan Tantala's double to right field. Later in the inning, Kyle Hartman had a two-out single to left center and stole second to get in scoring position. Gallagher then singled to right field to plate Hartman. Grablewski scored another run in the sixth on a fielder's choice by Connor Corson. The Nittany Lions tacked on two runs in the bottom of the seventh when a double down the right field line by Dylan Vermeesch scored Joel Sharp, who reached on a single. John Rivera singled through the left side to score Vermeesch.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Gettysburg College for a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
