Men's and women's tennis fall to Harrisburg

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIDDLETOWN, PA (March 18, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's and women's tennis teams suffered non-conference losses to Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday afternoon.

The men's squad fell by a score of 9-0. The number one doubles team of Drew Weinhold and Ryan Fritz played strong, but were narrowly edged out by a score of 9-7. In the top singles flight, Weinhold fell in three sets by scores of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

The women's team was downed by a score of 6-3. Erin Ginther and Florence Kurtz picked up an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles. On the singles side, Crystal Hitz was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at the top spot and Nandita Munindra won No. 2 singles by a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Kurtz took her No. 4 singles match to three sets before falling by a score of 10-8 in the super tiebreaker.

The men's team will return to action on Friday, March 21 at Baptist Bible College, while the women are off until Monday, March 24 against Bryn Athyn College.
