Men's tennis drop fall finale to Alvernia

Box Score READING, PA (October 9, 2014) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback to Alvernia University in the final game of the fall portion of the schedule on Thursday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions were able to avoid a sweep in doubles action thanks to a thrilling win by Volan Nnanpalle and Dylan Deleon at the No. 2 flight. The duo pulled out a 9-8 victory after outlasting their opponents in an 8-6 tiebreak.

Will Byler earned the other win for the Nittany Lions, after downing Jacob Conapitski 6-1, 6-1 at third singles. Byler, in his freshman campaign, has won both of his singles bouts this fall.

The Nittany Lions will open up the spring portion of their schedule with a spring break trip in Orlando, Fla.
