Men's tennis cruises to win over Rosemont

Box Score ROSEMONT, PA (April 17, 2013) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory over Rosemont College in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (7-4) won for the sixth time in seven matches during the spring season. Berks was very close to earning a sweep in doubles action, but Shesh Patel and Matthew Wise fell 7-3 in the tiebreak of 9-8 setback at No. 3 doubles. Drew Weinhold and George Chacko were 8-2 winners at the No. 1 flight, while Creston Smoker and Jeremy Emami teamed up for an 8-3 triumph at second doubles.

Chacko (No. 1) and Angel Negron (No. 2) each won their singles bouts by scores of 6-1, 6-3 and Emami was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at the No. 4 spot. Patel picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 5 and Wise finished off the victory with his 6-4, 6-2 win at sixth singles.

The Nittany Lions will get back to conference action when they travel to Rutgers-Camden on Friday, April 19. The contest is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
