Men's tennis fall to Harrisburg in conference title game

Box Score CLARKS SUMMIT, PA (April 28, 2012) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team finished runner-up in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) West Division Championship to Penn State Harrisburg for the second straight year. Berks fell by a score of 7-2 at the Birchwood Tennis Club on Saturday afternoon. (Boxscore)

Harrisburg, who won by a score of 8-1 in the regular season matchup, jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles action was finished. Berks' top team of Matt Holdorf and Dashiell Kopp pulled emerged with an 8-6 victory to stop Harrisburg a doubles sweep.

Kopp stayed hot with a 6-3, 6-3 win victory out of third singles. The sophomore standout has won all all five of the singles bouts that he has played in this season. He also sports a 5-1 record in doubles, playing primarily alongside of Holdorf.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up the 2011-12 campaign on Sunday, April 29 at the NEAC West individual championship beginning at 8 a.m. The tournament will take place at the Birchwood Tennis Club. For tournament pairings, please click here.
