Men's tennis fall to Ursinus in spring opener

Box Score READING, PA (March 17, 2012) – The Penn State Berks men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 setback in its spring opener to Ursinus College on Saturday morning at the Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The doubles team of Bradley Kale and Matt Holdorf battled hard, but fell in the No. 2 spot by a score of 8-3. Creston Smoker and Javier Quinones-Melendez lost in No. 3 doubles by a score of 8-2. In the first doubles, Steven Roughton and George Chacko fell 8-1.

In singles action, Holdorf turned in a strong effort at the No. 2 flight, but fell to Evan Lord by a score of 6-1, 6-3. Kale fell by the same score at fifth singles.

The Nittany Lions will host Immaculata University on Tuesday, March 20 at 4 p.m.
