READING, PA (April 18, 2011) - The Penn State Berks men's tennis team fell 9-0 to Penn State Harrisburg in a Northern Athletic Conference (NAC) contest at Gring's Mill on Monday afternoon.
Berks fell to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the NAC, while Harrisburg improved to 11-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Matt Holdorf put up a strong fight in the No. 4 singles match. He dropped the first set 6-3 and bounced back with a 6-3 win of his own to force a tiebreak. In the decisive set, Holdorf was edged out 11-9 by Tyler Bixler.
Holdorf and TIM KO
played tough at the No. 2 doubles spot in an 8-4 defeat to Bixler and Vincent Lepore.
The Nittany Lions will return to action with a non-conference match at Cabrini College on Wednesday afternoon.
