Lions fall in non-conference match to Marywood

READING, PA (October 2, 2011) – The Penn State Berks men's tennis team dropped its non-conference contest to Marywood University, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Hillcrest Racquet Club.

The Nittany Lions (1-2) top doubles team of Steven Roughton and Jordan Shankroff put up a fight, but were defeated 8-3 by Todd Doran and Evan Bolus.
In the singles action, Shankroff won the first set 7-5 in the No. 4 flight. He then dropped the second (6-2) to Ethan Jones. Shankroff then lost in the third set tiebreaker, 10-5.

Matt Holdorf took a few games in the No. 2 singles, but ultimately fell 6-3, 6-4.

The Nittany Lions will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule with a home contest on Tuesday, October 4 at 4 p.m. against Alvernia University.
