Women's tennis falls to Alvernia

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback to Alvernia University in non-conference action on Friday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts.

The No. 3 duo of Sam Hagenbush and Madyson Sanzotta downed their opponents 7-5 in the tiebreak to win the match 8-7. Madison Hetrick and Cassie Shoupe were topped by Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson in the No. 1 bout, while the No. 2 duo of Bailey Rocker and Aaliss Osidele fell to Jill Laughman and Jackelyn Checo.

In singes action, Rocker dropped her No. 3 match by a score of 7-6 (7-2), 6-1, while Shoupe suffered a 6-1, 6-1 setback at the second spot.

The Nittany Lions will travel face nearby Albright College on Tuesday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m.
