Men's soccer edged by Keuka

READING, PA (September 20, 2015) - Dan Zhmurkin netted two goals, but it was not enough as the Penn State Berks men's soccer team fell by a score of 3-2 to Wells College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions (2-4-1, 0-2 NEAC) trailed 1-0 after Ben Schreiber found the back of the net in the fifth minute. Zhmurkin then evened the contest at 1-all when Jon Mercier fed him a pass in the box that Zhmurkin rifled past the keeper. Shortly after the halftime intermission Zhmurkin was able to give the Nittany Lions a 2-1 lead. Omar Guzman weaved around defenders and sent a pass Zhmurkin, which he easily sent inside the near post.

The Wolfpack (5-0-1, 2-0 NEAC) were able to net the equalizer in the 77 minute and tallied the gamewinner at the 88:44 mark of the contest.

Rotman Saltos finished the contest with six saves, while his counterpart Preston Vick had four saves.

Berks held a 15-14 edge on shots, while Keuka had an 8-0 advantage on corner kicks.

The Nittany Lions will return in a home NEAC contest against Cazenovia College on Saturday, September 26 at 1 p.m.
