Baseball falls in NEAC Tournament opener

Box Score ROME, N.Y. (May 8, 2015) - The Penn State Berks baseball team fell, 9-2, to Penn State Abington in the opening round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Tournament opener on Friday afternoon on the campus of SUNY Polytechnic.

With the loss, the Nittany Lions will face the host Wildcats in an elimination game on Saturday, May 9 at 12 p.m. Abington and Penn College will face off at 9 a.m.

Kyle Hartman hit an RBI double in the top of the first inning to build a 1-0 lead. But Abington evened it 1-all in the bottom of the first and pulled away with a five-run second inning.

Tom Grablewski led Berks with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate, while Luke Erb and Keeanu Erb each went 1-for-3. The winner of game four will play the loser of game three in another elimanation game at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
