Women's tennis picks up 6-3 win over Keuka College

Box Score READING, PA (April 6, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team opened up North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play with a 6-3 victory over Keuka College on Saturday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (4-3, 1-0 NEAC) grabbed wins in two of the three doubles matches. Crystal Hitz and Samantha Warga cruised through the top doubles flight with an 8-1 victory, while Kristina Hatter and Taylor Keselica picked up a thrilling 9-7 win at No. 3.

Hitz, the reigning NEAC Player of the Year, continued her success in conference play with a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles. Warga needed a 7-4 tiebreaker win to take the first set by a 7-6 score and outlasted Danielle Delgatto with a 6-4 win in the second set to earn the victory at the second spot. Hatter (No. 4) won 6-1, 6-2 and Gloria Kim rounded out the Berks winners with a 7-5, 7-5 win at fifth singles.

The Nittany Lions will host Wells College in a NEAC contest on Sunday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
