Yarnell reaches milestone in Nittany Lions win over St. Elizabeth

Box Score MORRISTOWN, N.J. (April 19, 2013) – The Penn State Berks women's tennis team shut out the College of Saint Elizabeth by a score of 9-0 to give head coach Scott Yarnell his 100th career win. (Boxscore)

Yarnell is in his ninth season with the women's squad and has a career record of 100-38. The 2012-13 team is one win away from reaching double-digits for the fourth straight season. Yarnell has guided the women's team to five conference titles. The 2011-12 team was one of those conference winners and it also had the NEAC Player of the Year (Crystal Hitz).

Yarnell is currently the head coach of three sports at Penn State Berks. He has been at the helm of the men's basketball team for 20 seasons, compiling an overall record of 274-238. The 2012-13 team won the NEAC South Division for the first time in program history. Yarnell is in the middle of his first year as the head coach of the men's tennis team.

The No. 1 duo of Crystal Hitz and Elizabeth Kehm cruised to an 8-0 win, while the third doubles team of Kristina Hatter and Gloria Kim won by the same score. Samantha Warga and Allison Monkman finished off the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 2.

In singles action, Hitz won at No. 1 in a pro-set by a score of 8-2 and Warga won by the same score at No. 4 singles. Kehm (No. 2), Monkman (No. 4), Hatter (No. 5), and Kim (No. 6) all shutout the opposition 8-0.

The Nittany Lions (9-3, 6-0 NEAC) will travel to Penn State Abington for an NEAC match on Saturday, April 20 at 11 a.m.
