Women's tennis shuts out Cazenovia in road match

VERONA, N.Y. (April 14, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team earned its fifth straight victory after defeating Cazenovia College by a score of 9-0 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (8-3, 5-0 NEAC) started off the match with an 8-3 victory from Crystal Hitz and Elizabeth Kehm at No. 1 doubles. Samantha Warga and Allison Monkman followed with an 8-6 win at the second spot, while Kristina Hatter and Taylor Keselica were 8-4 winners in the third flight.

Hitz (No. 1) and Kehm (No. 2) were 6-1, 6-1 winners at the top two singles spots. Warga earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles to seal the victory. Monkman and Gloria Kim won 8-1 pro sets at the No. 4 and 6 spots. Hatter was ahead 1-0 in the first set before winning by default.

The Nittany Lions will travel to the College of Saint Elizabeth for a NEAC contest on Friday, April 19 at 3:30 p.m.
