Women's tennis improves to 4-0 in conference

Box Score READING, PA (April 13, 2013) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team defeated Penn State Harrisburg by a score of 7-2 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Gring's Mill Tennis Courts. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions (7-3, 4-0 NEAC) earned their fourth consecutive victory this spring, powered behind a sweep in doubles action. The No. 1 team of Crystal Hitz and Elizabeth Kehm pulled out a thrilling 8-6 win, while Samantha Warga and Allison Monkman won by the same score in the second flight. Kristina Hatter and Taylor Keselica improved their record as teammates to 4-0 with an 8-3 win at third doubles.

Hitz continued her success with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 1 singles. Monkman (No. 4), Hatter (No. 5), and Gloria Kim (No. 6) rounded out the singles winners for Berks.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Cazenovia College on April 14 for a NEAC contest.
