Strong play in singles leads women's tennis to win

Box Score READING, PA (April 1, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team picked up wins in five of its six singles matches to help earn a 6-3 win over Penn State Abington in an North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest on Sunday. (Boxscore)

The No. 3 doubles duo of Aimee Hoffman and Samantha Warga were able to pick up an 8-6 win to hold off Abington from sweeping in doubles.
 
Crystal Hitz was a 6-2, 6-2 winner in the top singles flight, while Hoffman earned another win after downing Lauren Hetzel 6-3, 6-3 in No. 2 singles. Arion Harris (No. 3) clinched the Nittany Lions victory with her 6-2, 7-5 victory at third singles. Elizabeth Kehm emerged with a win (6-4, 4-6, 7-5) in three sets at No. 4 singles. In the sixth singles spot, Kristina Hatter edged out Adela Ulitsky by a score of 6-4, 7-5.
 
The Nittany Lions will enjoy a 10 day layoff before returning to action with an road match at Lancaster Bible on Wednesday, April 11 at 3:30 p.m.
