Women's tennis ends fall season on high note

READING, PA (October 18, 2012) - The Penn State Berks women's tennis team defeated Baptist Bible College, 7-2, in the Nittany Lions final contest of the fall season on Thursday afternoon. (Boxscore)

The Nittany Lions finished the first half of their season with a 3-2 record, despite several rain outs. Today's contest was a make-up from Monday, which was postponed due to poor weather conditions.

Kristina Hatter and Liz Martinez paired up for an 8-0 victory out of No. 1 doubles. Hatter finished the day with a 2-0 record after defeating Dahlia Orth by a score of 8-1 at second singles.

Gloria Kim, Allison Monkman, and Taylor Keselica each were perfect in singles and doubles play. Monkman and Samantha Warga were 8-3 winners at No. 2 doubles, while Kim and Keselica earned an 8-2 triumph at third doubles.

Kim (No. 4) won her singles bout 8-3, while Monkman (No. 5) and Keselica (No. 6) each had pro-set scores of 8-1 in their favor.

The Nittany Lions will begin the spring portion of the their schedule on March 27 at Franklin & Marshall College. They will start their conference play on Saturday, April 6 at home against Keuka College.
