Lancaster Bible tops Berks in season finale

LANCASTER, PA (February 19, 2011) - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team dropped its season finale, 86-69, to Lancaster Bible College in Saturday afternoon's non-conference contest.

It was the fourth straight setback for the Nittany Lions (8-17). The game was a taste of things to come as Lancaster Bible will join the North Eastern Athletic Conference as a full-time member in the 2011-12 season.

Freshman Shawn Green led the Nittany Lions with 15 points, while Dontez Reid and Nate Weldon each chipped in 10. Weldon led all rebounders with 11 to record his third straight double-double and also had three blocked shots.

The Nittany Lions trailed 45-38 at halftime and a jumper by Rory Sullivan with 18:54 to play cut the deficit to five. The Chargers (10-14) wouldn't allow the score to get any closer from that point on.

Kody Koser had a game-high 17 points and Kevin Keltner added 15. Keltner and Andrew Risser combined for 15 of the teams 23 assists.

The Nittany Lions have a bright future to look forward to with its young core of players. Juniors Connor Hough and Marlin Tillman are the only players on the team higher than freshman or sophomore.
