UTICA, N.Y. (January 30, 2011) – The Penn State Berks women's basketball team suffered a 61-49 loss to SUNYIT in Sunday afternoon's North Eastern Athletic Conference contest at Campus Center Gymnasium.

The Lions (10-8, 9-6 NEAC) had their season best four game win streak snapped and missed an opportunity to gain ground in the standings. The Wildcats (12-6, 11-5 NEAC) hold a two game lead over Berks for the fourth spot and has the tiebreaker after sweeping the season series.

The Lions struggled shooting in all facets of the game. Berks shot 28.4% from the floor, including 4-for-18 on 3's. The Lions only had nine trips to the foul line and converted just three into points. The Wildcats 33.9% shooting wasn't much better, but they made up for it with 16-of-25 at the foul line.

Dorian Bishop led the Lions with 11 points, while EMILY PUFNOCK and STEPH BINDER each chipped in 10 points. Pufnock handed out a game-high five assists. TAYLOR KREIDER had a team-high nine boards as the Lions were outrebounded 58-43.

Lyndsey Brognano finished with 22 points, including three 3-pointers. Tamara Williams added 12 points, 19 boards and three blocks.

The Lions will return to action with a pair of NEAC matches next weekend against Cazenovia and Morrisville State at Beaver Community Center. Both contests will tip-off at 1 p.m.
