READING, PA (November 19, 2010) – The Penn State Berks men's basketball team dropped an 88-52 nonconference contest to cross-town rival Alvernia University on Friday evening.
The Crusaders (2-0) never trailed in the contest and took a 50-33 lead into the half.
Tore Turner scored 10 of his 13 points in the first half on 5-of-12 shooting. Turner also had a game-high six steals. Devin Moore and Wanyae Hartsfield each added seven points. Moore had a team-high 10 rebounds, while Thomas Smith grabbed seven boards.
After a 2-for-11 showing at the free throw line in the season opener, Berks had a 70% (7-for-10) performance against Alvernia.
Penn State Berks will get right back into action on Saturday when they host Kutztown University at 1 p.m. in Beaver Community Center.
