ABINGTON, PA - The Penn State Berks men's cross country team headed over to Abington, Pa to compete in the Abington Invitational on Saturday, September 19. The men's team won the event, taking first place out of 11 teams.
The Nittany Lions earned first place as they outpaced second place by 36 points. Four Berks' runners placed in the top-10, with all of them running under 28 minutes.
Trent Jordan was the top runner, having a top-10 time in program history as he ran a 27:11.60 time, good enough for fourth on the day.
Adrian Maldonado (27:50.44), Samuel Brandford (27:54.51), and
Cristian Corona-Olivares (27:59.25) took the next three spots for seventh, eighth, and ninth on the event as they earned PR times.
Mark Shiroshita was the fifth runner for the White & Blue, finishing 28th with a 31:40.31 finish.
William Johnston-McCormack and Alex Gonzalez took 32nd and 33rd as they ran a 32:24.97 and 32:37.71 time respectively. Alexander Phillips (37:51.48) and Matthew Shellenberger (51.14.01) rounded out the Nittany Lions runners.
