Men's Basketball Falls to Carin in Regular Season Finale

LANGHORNE, Pa. — Penn State Berks fell to Cairn with a final score of 104-65 on Saturday at the Mason Activity Center in the Nittany Lions regular season finale. Despite hitting 13 three-pointers, the Blue & White was unable to contain the Highlanders, which capitalized on 27 turnovers to secure the victory.

Berks opened the first half with a strong start, as Jaedon Mast hit an early 3-pointer to establish a brief lead. The team capitalized on its bench strength, contributing 12 points, and found success inside with 10 points in the paint. Despite these efforts, multiple turnovers allowed the Highlanders to seize control, particularly with efficient shooting from beyond the arc. As the half progressed, Cairn's offense surged, fueled by 15 points off turnovers and a perfect record from the free-throw line. Berks fought back with a late 3-pointer from Peter Cavacini, but trailed at the end of the half, with the score standing at 54-30 in favor of the Highlanders.

The Nittany Lions began the second half with a strong effort as Marquis Ferreira hit a 3-pointer, narrowing the score gap. Despite this early push, the Highlanders responded with consistent scoring, maintaining their lead. Berks faced challenges with turnovers, totaling 16 in the half, which the Highlanders capitalized on effectively. Quentin Wright and Isaiah Cotten contributed defensively with key rebounds, while Ferreira continued his shooting performance, including a four-point play late in the half. Despite these efforts, Berks struggled to close the gap, with the half ending at 104–65 in favor of the Highlanders.

Ferreira led the scoring for the Blue & White with 18 points, converting five of ten from beyond the arc. Mast added 11 points, including three successful 3-pointers. Wright made a defensive impact with four blocks and collected eight rebounds. Matthew Gingerich contributed 10 points and four rebounds, aiding the team's overall performance.
