CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Penn State Berks fell to Wilson with a final score of 80-92 at Gannett Field House on Wednesday night in the United East First Round. Despite the loss, the Nittany Lions showcased a strong performance from beyond the arc, hitting 13 three-pointers.

The game began with the Blue & White quickly establishing momentum, sparked by Jaedon Mast's pair of three-pointers, securing an early 6–0 lead. Despite turnovers, Berks maintained their edge through Isaiah Cotten's effective play in the paint, leading to a 12–7 advantage. However, the Phoenix responded with a run, closing the gap and eventually overtaking with a 14–12 lead midway through the half. Berk battled back with contributions from Peter Cavacini, who hit a three-pointer to bring the score to 24–32. As the half progressed, Cotten continued to find success inside, helping the Blue & White to stay competitive. The half concluded with the Phoenix maintaining a 45–35 lead, as Berks aimed to regain their earlier momentum.

Wilson opened the second half with a strong offensive push, quickly extending its lead through a series of successful fast-break opportunities and free throws. Despite the early deficit, Berks responded with resilience, led by Matthew Gingerich who contributed significantly with defensive rebounds and scoring drives, including a key three-pointer and a fast-break layup by Mast. As the half progressed, the Blue & White rallied to cut into the lead, with Quentin Wright and Josh Mingledolph adding valuable points in the paint. However, the Phoenix maintained its edge with consistent scoring from the free-throw line and strong performances from its bench. The half concluded with Wilson holding a 92-80 advantage.

Mast led the team with 21 points, including five 3-pointers, and added three assists. Gingerich posted a double-double, scoring 16 points with four 3-pointers and collecting 12 rebounds.
