READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks fell to Wilson with a final score of 99-83 on Saturday at the Beaver Athletics & Wellness Center. This game was Senior Day, and before the game, the Penn State Berks Athletic Department took a few moments to honor seniors
Luke Collins,
Isaiah Cotten,
Kai Davis,
Marquis Ferreira,
Matthew Gingerich,
Jaedon Mast, and
Josh Mingledolph. The Nittany Lions secured 38 rebounds and recorded eight blocks, but Wilson's 30 fast-break points proved decisive.
Berks started the first half with a strong defensive effort, highlighted by
Josh Mingledolph's early steal.
Marquis Ferreira contributed on the boards and assisted a
Matthew Gingerich layup to open the scoring. Despite multiple missed opportunities from the free-throw line, the team maintained momentum with contributions from
Isaiah Cotten and
Jaedon Mast, who added points in the paint. The half saw several ties and lead changes, with Wilson's fast break points creating challenges. However, Berks showcased resilience, keeping the game competitive with effective rebounding and defensive stops, including five blocks and five steals. As the half closed, a highlight reel dunk by
Quentin Wright narrowed the gap, yet Wilson held a 45–39 lead at the buzzer.
Ferreira sparked momentum for the Blue & White early in the second half with consecutive three-pointers, tying the score at 45. However, Wilson responded quickly, leveraging a series of turnovers to pull ahead. Notably, Jalen Pierce led a fast break that extended Wilson's lead to 53-45. Midway through, Wright kept Berks competitive with a layup and subsequent tip-in, narrowing the gap.
Peter Cavacini also contributed a three-pointer, but Wilson maintained pressure with consistent scoring in the paint, keeping their advantage intact. As the half wound down,
Gabriel Harrison added a jumper, but Wilson capitalized on offensive rebounds and free throws to close with a 99-83 lead.
Isaiah Cotten finished with 13 points, capitalizing on 7 of 11 free throws and collecting seven rebounds. Mingledolph matched Cotten with 13 points, converting 5 of 10 field goals while adding four rebounds and a block.
Quentin Wright led the team with 14 points, shooting 6 of 8 from the field, and recorded four blocks and two steals. Gingerich contributed eight points, including a 3-pointer, and secured five rebounds.

Berks will face Penn State Abington on Wednesday, Feb. 4. The match-up will take place in Reading, Pennsylvania, with the game set to tip off at 5 p.m.
