LA PLUME, Pa. — Penn State Berks secured an 86-78 victory over Keystone on Wednesday night at Ace Spalding Arena. The Nittany Lions led throughout the entire game with a strong performance from the free-throw line, converting 24 of 36 attempts, while outscoring Keystone 22-13 in points off turnovers.
Berks opened the first half with a strong offensive showing, highlighted by an early 9–3 run featuring key plays from
Josh Mingledolph and
Jaedon Mast. The team capitalized on turnovers and fast breaks, with
Quentin Wright contributing defensively with several rebounds and a block.
Marquis Ferreira's shooting from beyond the arc further extended the lead. The team maintained momentum through effective ball distribution, resulting in 10 assists in the half, and held Keystone to a lower shooting percentage.
Gabriel Harrison and
Zach Prator also added crucial points in the paint to keep the pressure on the home team. The half closed with Berks leading 44–26.
The Blue & White maintained their lead throughout the second half, weathering a strong push from Keystone. The half began with
Jaedon Mast converting two free throws to extend the lead, followed by strategic defensive plays, including a steal by Mast. Despite several turnovers, Berks consistently capitalized on free throw opportunities, which proved crucial in maintaining the lead. Keystone narrowed the gap at times, with Jden Golding providing key moments, including a fast-break layup and a 3-pointer. However, Prator and Wright responded with effective scoring in the paint, ensuring Berks kept a comfortable margin. As the half closed, Berks secured an 86-78 victory, successfully fending off Keystone's late attempts at a comeback.
Prator scored 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and added two blocked shots. Ferreira contributed 16 points, hitting four 3-pointers and recording three assists. Mast finished with 15 points, making 6 of 10 free throws and collecting three steals. Wright posted a double-double with 13 rebounds and 11 points, while also blocking two shots.

The Blue & White will host Wilson College on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m. in Reading, Pennsylvania. Before the game, the Nittany Lions will celebrate senior day with a special presentation.
