YORK, Pa. — Penn State Berks fell to Penn State York, 89-73, with York maintaining a lead throughout the game. The Nittany Lions tallied 22 assists but could not overcome York's 26 points off turnovers.
Berks started the first half with competitive energy, keeping early pace through effective shooting from
Zach Prator, who contributed key jumpers. Despite nine assists that facilitated ball movement, turnovers hindered momentum, allowing Penn State York to capitalize on possession changes. As the half progressed, Penn State York increased their lead, driven by efficient scoring and assist plays, notably from Terrell Neal and John Godinez. Berks managed to reduce the deficit with a late 3-pointer from
Cooper Truskey, but York extended an 18-point lead by the quarter's end, closing at 46–29.
The Nittany Lions started the second half with a strong effort, highlighted by
Peter Cavacini's jumper at 18:50 and Prator's assist, showing their determination to cut into the lead. Despite turnovers, the Blue & White managed to maintain scoring pressure with
Jaedon Mast's 3-pointer at 15:48 and
Gabriel Harrison's jumper at 15:17. As the half progressed, Berks continued to reduce the deficit with a series of successful shots, including a 3-pointer by Mast at 12:19 assisted by
Quentin Wright. However, Penn State York's consistent free throws and scoring, including a jumper by Neal at 11:03, helped them maintain their advantage. Berks showed resilience with multiple scoring efforts, including a jumper by
Henry Michel III and a late 3-pointer by
Schroeder Kleine at 00:16. Despite their efforts, the game concluded with Penn State York maintaining their lead, ending at 89-73.
Prator led the team with 20 points, shooting 8-for-18 from the field, and added six rebounds. Cavacini contributed 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including two 3-pointers, while also pulling down four rebounds. Mast scored 11 points and recorded three assists, making three of his four attempts from beyond the arc. Michel III added seven points and dished out four assists.
