Reading, Pa.- The Penn St. Berks Men's Soccer team struggled in their first road contest of the season, falling to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) by a score of 6-0 on Sunday, August 31.
TCNJ immediately tested the Berks Defense, launching five shots in the opening 10 minutes, but
Josh Martin made three saves to keep the score even. The Lions eventually broke through scoring in the 13
th minute to take a 1-0 lead. TCNJ added goals in the 34
th and 35
th minutes, capturing a 3-0 lead at the break.
Berks continued to struggle to maintain possession early in the second half and TCNJ capitalized, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes to stretch their advantage to five.
Emir Hamzic created the Lions lone scoring chance, blasting a shot just over the crossbar in the 56
th minute. TCNJ added one more goal as they earned a 6-0 victory.

Berks will remain on the road, traveling to take on Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, September 3. The opening kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
