READING, PA - The Penn State Berks Men's Soccer could not keep up with DeSales University falling by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday September 16 at the Berks Turf Field.
The first half began with the Nittany Lions goalkeeper
Josh Martin playing a pivotal role, making critical saves to keep the game within reach early on. Despite his efforts, the Bulldgos broke through in the 18th minute with Kevin Krall scoring the opening goal. The visitors continued their offensive push, scoring twice more in quick succession, with Liam MacDonald netting goals in the 20th and 21st minutes, resulting in a 3-0 lead by halftime.
The second half began with DeSales extending their lead just over nine minutes in, with MacDonald scoring with an assist from Larry Sullivan at the 54:42 mark. The Nittany Lions responded quickly as
Callan Stuck capitalized on a penalty kick in the 55th minute, marking the first goal of his career and bringing the score to 4-1. Despite several key saves by
Patrick Martin, including stopping attempts in the 71st, 75th, and 80th minutes, the Bulldogs expanded their advantage with goals in the 66th and 89th minutes, concluding the match at 6-1.
Josh Martin recorded nine saves in the match, contributing significantly to the team's defensive efforts.
Patrick Martin added six saves in his 18 minutes of play, keeping the pressure on the opposing offense. Stuck scored the Nittany Lions' only goal, converting his single shot on goal with precision.
Jack Salmon also contributed offensively, with one shot on goal during the match.
