BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Penn State Berks Women's Volleyball team fell in three sets, 25-12, 25-13, 25-8, to Moravian University on Monday, September 15 at Johnston Hall.
The first set began with the Greyhounds taking an early advantage, but Berks responded with a kill from
Madelyn Caris, assisted by
Libby Swoyer. Despite a challenging stretch where Moravian extended their lead, Berks found momentum late in the set with
Emily Snader's kill and service ace. Ultimately, the Greyhounds secured the set with a 25-12 victory, while Berks showed moments of resilience and teamwork.
The second set began with Berks trying to reduce their deficit, highlighted by a kill from Caris, again assisted by Swoyer. Despite a few scoring opportunities, including a service ace by
Gabryella Maney, Moravian maintained control.
Ella Griffiths contributed with a kill, but Moravian's consistent play, capped by a decisive kill from Payton Reuber, resulted in a 25-13 win for the home team in the set.
The third set began with Moravian quickly extending their lead, highlighted by a kill from Adi Schwerdtferger. Berks, led by Caris, responded with a series of points, including two key kills from Caris, showcasing her skill at the net. Despite a late push featuring a kill from Snader, The Greyhounds maintained control and closed the set decisively.
Swoyer recorded 13 assists and added nine digs in the match. Snader contributed four kills and secured one ace to finish with 5.5 points. Caris tallied seven kills and collected six digs during the contest.
Karlie Kerschner delivered two service aces and posted six digs across three sets.

Berks will return home for a match-up against Lebanon Valley College. The teams will face off on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 PM. in Reading, PA.
