Myrtle Beach, SC- The Penn St. Berks Baseball team suffered a setback to open their spring break trip, falling to Hilbert College by a score of 9-2 on Saturday, March 8.

The Lions (1-6 Overall) fell behind early as Hilbert (3-1 Overall) scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Berks answered back in the bottom of the first inning.
Landon Reyes reached base on a walk, eventually swiping second base to move into scoring position.
Andrew Seibert capitalized on a throwing error, advancing to second base and allowing Reyes to race around the bases and score.

The Hawks added a run in the second inning and three more in the fifth inning to stretch their advantage to six runs. The Lions offense ground to halt, as they were held to one hit over the next six innings. Hilbert scored two more runs in the top of the ninth inning to push their lead to eight.
Isaiah Dull led off the final inning by getting hit by a pitch. He then stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch.
Nicholas Buchman cracked a single into right field, allowing Dull to score. Berks could get no closer, eventually falling by a score of 9-2.

The Lions offense was led by
Logan Ewert and Reyes who each recorded a double. Buchman collected the Blue & White's lone RBI with a single in the ninth inning. The Lions
Amanjeet Turka put on a solid relief pitching performance, going 2.0 innings, allowing no hits while striking out two.

The Lions will continue play in Myrtle Beach, taking on New Jersey City University on Sunday, March 9. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
