WESTMINSTER, MD — Penn State Berks fell to McDaniel with a final score of 91-69 on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Gill Center. The Nittany Lions were led by their three-point shooting, connecting on 9 of 27 attempts, but were out-rebounded 41-19, which contributed to the outcome.
Berks began with a strong showing, opening the game with a three-pointer from
Quentin Wright assisted by
Luke Collins, establishing an early lead.
Marquis Ferreira contributed significantly with multiple three-pointers, and
Zach Prator was effective in the paint, helping to maintain the team's pace. Despite several lead changes and ties throughout the half, Berks managed to execute a strategic mix of inside scoring and long-range shooting. McDaniel responded with consistent inside scoring and capitalized on free throws to keep the game tight. Bruce Black and David Kearney combined for several key plays that kept McDaniel competitive. As the half concluded, the Blue & White trailed by a narrow margin, with a score of 42-39, setting the stage for a competitive continuation.
The second half began with McDaniel extending their lead through effective shooting, including two quick layups. The Nittany Lions responded with a jumper from Wright and a series of scoring plays by Ferreira, who contributed significantly with both jump shots and free throws. Despite their efforts, Berks faced a strong offensive performance from McDaniel, which included multiple successful three-pointers. As the half progressed, the Blue & White attempted to close the gap with key plays including a three-pointer by
Jaedon Mast and consistent scoring from Ferreira. However, McDaniel maintained their momentum with accurate shots from beyond the arc and effective free-throw shooting. The half concluded with McDaniel expanding their lead, ending with a score of 91–69.
Ferreira scored 27 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the offensive charge. Mast added 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Prator contributed with 11 points and six rebounds.
Matthew Gingerich recorded two steals and tallied six points.
