READING, PA - Penn State Berks Athletics will launch its First Annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, Oct. 14, providing alumni, fans and supporters an opportunity to directly impact the future of its student-athletes.
The fundraising initiative will allow donors to contribute to any of the college's 12 varsity sports programs or to the general athletics fund, which supports all student-athletes. Every gift, regardless of size, will help enhance the overall experience for more than 160 student-athletes who compete for the Nittany Lions.
"This is an exciting step for Penn State Berks Athletics," said Director of Athletics
Barry Beal. "Our student-athletes work tirelessly in the classroom and in competition, and the Day of Giving will help us provide the resources they need to succeed."
Funds raised during the campaign will go toward a variety of priorities, including equipment, facility upgrades, team travel, academic support and leadership development opportunities. Supporters may choose to direct their donation to a specific team or make a broader contribution to the athletics fund."
The initiative also aims to engage alumni and friends of the program by celebrating the tradition and pride of Penn State Berks Athletics. Throughout the day, the department will highlight stories of student-athletes, coaches and teams on social media to showcase the impact of giving.
