Men's Soccer Earns Road Conference Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Penn State Berks secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Gallaudet Univeristy in their United East Road Opener on Wednesday, October 1st at Hotchkiss Field.

The first half began with Nittany Lions establishing early pressure, marked by a wide shot from Gavin Dai. The visiting team capitalized on this momentum when Callan Stuck scored the opening goal in the 6th minute, as he redirected a save of Terridine Grant shot into the back of the net. This goal marked Stuck's fifth goal of the season. Just minutes later, Grant extended the lead with a goal in the 8th minute, beating the Bison's goalkeeper to the near post after Nicholas McMasters played a ball over the top of Gallaudet's defense, giving the visitors a 2-0 advantage. Despite several offside calls, the visitors maintained offensive pressure throughout the half. Goalkeeper Patrick Martin contributed defensively with key saves against the opposing attempts, notably stopping a shot by Matteo Giansanti in the 32nd minute. The half closed with the visiting side holding a solid 2-0 lead.

The second half began with the Nittany Lions maintaining a strong offensive presence, highlighted by multiple attempts on goal. Despite several saves by Gallaudet's goalkeeper John McCabe, the visitors persisted, breaking through in the 88th minute as Stuck scored his second goal of the day, once again assisted by Grant, marking his sixth goal of the season. Shortly after, Suyash Bhandarkar capitalized on a fast break, netting his first career goal in the 89th minute, extending the lead. Berks remained firmly in control, ending with a 4-0 victory.

Stuck led the team with two goals, including the game-winner, and recorded seven shots with five on target. Grant contributed significantly by scoring once and providing two assists, finishing with five shots on goal. Bhandarkar added to the offense with one goal from three shots, two of which were on target. In goal, Martin secured a shutout with two saves over 90 minutes, facing five total shots. Berks dominated with 31 total shots, including 21 on goal.
