READING, Pa. – The Penn State Berks women's soccer team fell to Scranton, 5-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday night.
The Royals outshot the Nittany Lions, 21-2, for the match but only held a 1-0 lead at halftime. Sophia Gonzalez made eight saves on the night, four in each half.
Mary King and Devon Deery each recorded shots for Berks. King's shot was the lone one that was on frame.
Scranton made it 2-0 in the 60th minute, and then added three more goals after the 70th minute.
Berks returns to action on Friday against Rowan at home at 5 p.m.
