READING, PA- The Penn St. Berks Baseball team could not overcome the cold temperatures, falling to SUNY Plattsburgh by a score of 11-3 on Monday, Mar. 18.
The Cardinals grabbed the early advantage, scoring in the second and third innings to build a 3-0 advantage. Zach Smith tried to jump start Berk's offensive attack, launching a solo home run over the left field fence in the bottom of the third inning.
SUNY Plattsburgh answered by scoring runs in the fourth and fifth innings to make the score 5-1. The Lions offense found some rhythm in the bottom of the fifth inning. Later in the inning Bryce Kelly slapped a single into right field allowing Reeser to score, cutting the deficit down to two.
