Reading, PA- The Penn St. Berks Women's Basketball Team finished the fall semester by falling to Penn College by a score of 64-38 on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The Lions (0-9 Overall, 0-3 UE) fell behind early as the Wildcats (4-6 Overall, 3-0 UE) opened the game on a 10-2 run.
Hailey Miller jump started Berks' offense hitting a 3-pointer in transition. A few possessions later, Miller hit another 3-pointer, cutting the deficit down to two.
Jalyn Hann then found a cutting Miller for a layup, tying the score at 10 at the end of the first quarter. Penn College stretched their lead opening the second quarter on a 10-2 run. Miller stopped the run temporarily by hitting a jump shot, but Penn College kept pushing their lead, holding a 32-16 advantage at the half.
Berks could not get their offense going in the third quarter, being held to only three points through the opening seven minutes.
Ashlyn Clark and Gabrielle Merrit each connected on short jump shorts toward the end of quarter, but Berks trailed 55-24 heading into the final quarter. The Lions made a push early in the fourth quarter, with Miller scoring six-straight points.
Morgan Dunbar drilled a 3-pointer from the wing, cutting the deficit down to 22 points. The Lions could get no closer, falling 64-38.

The Lions pause for the Holiday Break and then travel to face Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, Jan. 4. The opening tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
