Reading, Pa.- The Penn St. Berks Women's Soccer Team took down Penn St. Brandywine, defeating the Lions by a score of 12-0 on Tuesday, Oct 22.
Berks (6-8-2 Overall, 5-1-1 UEC) got on the board first, striking in the ninth minute.
Autumn Levengood rocketed a shot on goal that deflected off the goalkeeper and to the feet of
Adriana Lepera. Lepera capitalized, smashing a shot into the back of the net. The Lions added on in the 24
th minute.
Ashley Jocham drove into the box, playing a ball to Levengood directly in front of the goal. Levengood lifted a shot over the keeper for a goal.
Mary King got into the act, taking a pass from
Faith Wavershak at the top of the box and hammering a shot into the upper corner of the goal. The Blue & White scored again in the 33
rd minute. Wavershak laid a pass off to Lepera out the box and she scored a spectacular goal, driving the ball perfectly into the upper right-hand corner, making the score 4-0.
Paige Thomas kept the offensive onslaught going, dribbling down the right side and lacing a shot into the back of the net. The Lions added one more goal before the half, when
Lauren LeKites headed in a corner kick from Lepera. Berks led 6-0 at the break.
The Lions were on the attack immediately in the second half, scoring in the 47
th minute. King drove through the left side of the defense and played a ball across the front of the goal to Levengood. She knocked the ball into the back of the net to stretch the advantage. One minute later, Thomas blasted a shot from outside the box that bounced past the keeper for a goal. Jocham struck again in the 50
th minute, gathering in a loose ball from a missed shot and redirecting it into the back of the net.
Mackenzie Bennett made an impact play in the 52
nd minute, gathering a loose ball and lining a shot under the crossbar for the Lions 10
th goal of the game. Wavershak struck in the 59
th minute, capitalizing on quick passes by Levengood and Bennett to create shooting space and score her first goal of the game. Lepera closed out the scoring, netting a goal in the 65
th minute to complete her hat trick. The match was stopped in the 70
th minute.

The Lions will close out the regular season with a trip to Cairn University with major postseason seeding implications on Saturday, Oct. 26. The kickoff is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM.
