GRANTHAM, PA - The Penn State Berks women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision on the road to the No. 5 ranked Messiah University in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

The Nittany Lions drop to 2-4 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 5-2 overall.

Messiah controlled possession early on and were able to breakthrough with a score at the 12:21 mark of the opening period and later tacked on another score in the 16th minute. The Berks offense got going toward the end of the first period with shots by Carly Fox and Diana Pon, but both were not able to find the back of the net.

The Falcons added to their lead with a score 49 seconds into the second half on the second score of the contest by Julia Martin. From that point on, neither team was able to add another score.

Sophia Gonzalez finished the game with a season-high nine saves in net, while Raegan Salamone made one stop to combine with Ava Wert on the shutout.
