Men's soccer plays to 1-1 draw with DeSales

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's soccer team finished in a 1-1 tie with DeSales University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions are now 0-3-2 overall, while DeSales moves to 3-1-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard with a goal at the 8:33 mark of the first period. They nearly added to their lead over the course of the next 20 minutes, but Ethan Brazier was able to make the save in net.

In the 36th minute, Landen Jamison played a ball over the midfield down the sideline that Patrick Cwalinski ran down leading to a breakaway. Cwalinski was 1-on-1 with the keeper and flipped it over his head when he came off the end line. It was the sophomore forward's first goal with the Nittany Lions.

Cwalinski nearly netted another goal later in the half, but it sailed wide. The Bulldogs had a couple of scoring chances the rest of the way, but Brazier and the defense were able to keep the offense at bay.

The Bulldogs outshot Berks by a 17-3 margin (11-2 on goal) and held a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.

Brazier finished with 10 saves in net, while Tyler Horton made one save for DeSales.

The Nittany Lions open up United East play with a match at Penn College on Saturday, September 23 at 1 p.m.
