WBB drops home contest to LBC

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks women's basketball could not overcome a slow start in a 72-50 setback to Lancaster Bible College in United East competition on Tuesday night.

The Chargers led 15-2 after the first quarter and 36-15 lead into the halftime intermission. Out of the break, LBC outscored the Nittany Lions by a 36-35 margin to secure the victory.

Lyla Spencer knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 15 points to go with three rebounds and two steals. Kayley Mattis chipped in 11 points and five boards, followed by Morgan Kline with seven points, two assists, and two steals. Hailey Miller chipped in six points and four boards, while Jalyn Hann had five points and a team-best six rebounds.

LB was led by Adalyn Steiner with 22 points, while Mikayla Via had 13 points and five boards. Alaysha Iwais, who finished with 12 points, handed out a game-high six assists.

The Nittany Lions will host its home finale against Penn College on Friday, February 17 at 5 p.m. Prior to the game, Lyla Spencer will be celebrated with Senior Day honors.
