Women's basketball sweeps season series with Wells

AURORA, N.Y. - The Penn State Berks women's basketball topped Wells College, 61-37, in an United East road contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions led 10-5 after the first quarter and took a 28-12 lead into the halftime break. Out of the intermission, Berks outscored the Express by 33-25 margin to secure the series sweep over Wells this season.

Jalyn Hann notched her first double-double of the season after recording 16 points and 12 rebounds. Hailey Miller picked up her fifth double-double of the year with her 14 points and game-high 14 boards to go with six steals and five assists. Katie Davis chipped in nine points, followed by Kathrynn Weller with seven and Sam Hagenbush with six. Lyla Spencer and Kayley Mattis combined for seven points, 21 rebounds, and five assists. Madyson Sanzotta added a pair of points off the bench for Berks.

Morgan Adams led the Express with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Ai Orita followed with 12 points, seven boards, five steals, and five assists.

The Nittany Lions return home to host Lancaster Bible College in an United East contest on Tuesday, February 14 at 5 p.m.
