MBB drops home tilt to Bryn Athyn

READING, PA - The Penn State Berks men's basketball team hung tough, but visiting Bryn Athyn College was able to pull away late en route to a 81-63 decision over the Nittany Lions in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle that eventually went into the break with Bryn Athyn ahead 36-31. In the second half, the Nittany Lions got to within four points (56-52) with 8:47 remaining, but Bryn Athyn closed out the game on a 25-11 run to earn the win.

Andre Ballard finished 5-of-7 from beyond the arc to finish with a team-high 21 points, while also adding eight rebounds. Marquis Ferreira chipped in 10 points, while Luke Collins added eight points and three steals. Josh Mingledolph recorded eight points, and team-best 10 boards and five assists. Josh Ruiz finished with five points and four assists, Kai Davis had four points and two blocked shots.

Jakir Hampton led Bryn Athyn with 22 points, followed by Montrell Horsey with 21 and Jalen Parker with 11. Jalen Cary chipped in 10 points, Jalen Jackson finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

The Nittany Lions will travel to Keystone College for a non-conference contest on Monday, November 20 at 6 p.m.
